How to wash your knitwear?
Tips for washing and caring for wool garments. Here is a small step-by-step guide on how to wash knitted and wool garments. Knitted garments can be washed/rinsed before use to even out the stitch pattern, or for stains. Wool has natural properties that make it resistant to odors and protects against dirt and grime. We recommend, as far as possible, hanging them outside to air out instead of washing them (preferably overnight in cold, dry air). Stains can also be removed without washing the entire garment. If the garment must be washed, we recommend hand washing.

Hand wash
HANDWASH
1. Fill tub/sink with lukewarm water
Use cool to lukewarm water (max 30°C). Test with your hand if you like – it should feel pleasantly cool.2. Add wool detergent and stir well
Stir the water well until the detergent is completely dissolved before putting the garment in.3. Lay the garment flat and wash gently
Gently immerse the garment in water (avoid rubbing, scrubbing, or wringing it).
Gently move the garment up and down in the water to help the detergent penetrate, but be very careful not to «work» the wool fibers too much.
Let it sit in the water for about 3-5 minutes – that's enough time for the detergent to do its job without the garment being exposed to unnecessary wear and tear.4. Gently press out the water
Do not wring the garment. Gently squeeze out water. Lay it flat on a towel and roll it up to press out moisture.5. Shape and dry flat
Dry the garment flat. Gently stretch it back into shape.If the garment is heavy and wet, it can stretch – therefore, short wash time original flat dry Important. The looser a garment is knitted, the faster it will become large in the wash. Some people have success with spinning at 800 revolutions in the machine. Here you have to experiment and know your machine well. Maybe test with a small «sample patch» in the same yarn quality?

STAIN REMOVAL ON KNITWEAR
1. Treat the stain quickly: Dampen the area with cold water and gently pat with a clean, damp cloth. Do not rub – it can damage the fibers.
2. Use a suitable stain remover: Apply a mild, wool-friendly soap or spot remover directly to the stain. Let it sit for a few minutes.
3. Rinse and wash gently: Rinse gently in cold water, then wash the garment by hand or on a wool cycle in the machine. Follow the washing instructions carefully.

Machine wash
Washing machine
We always recommend handwashing our wool yarns. However, most of our yarn qualities can be machine washed on the wool program. All machines are different and treat wool differently. Washing wool in the machine is at your own risk. We recommend testing how your machine treats the yarn – knit a swatch and wash it first. Not all machines are equally gentle, so be careful.
Our cotton yarn holds up well to machine washing, often at 40 degrees and with regular laundry. However, test with your machine first.
1.Use mild wool soap: Choose a soap specifically designed for wool and delicate fabrics.
2. Wash on wool program: Use the machine's wool program – max 30 °C.
3. Gentle spin: Select a maximum of 800 revolutions to avoid shrinkage or wear.
4. Dry flat: Gently stretch the garment back into shape and let it dry flat.
WASHING MACHINE TIPS
Many newer washing machines have water-saving features and adjust the amount of water based on the weight of the laundry. Since wool is light, the machine may use too little water, which can result in the detergent not being rinsed out sufficiently. This can damage woolen garments. To avoid this, we recommend pre-wetting woolen items before washing if you have a machine with water-saving features. Soak the garments in water in the sink or a bucket, or run a short wool program without detergent, preferably with cold water. Once the garments are wet and slightly heavier, the machine will take in enough water for an effective rinse. Some machines also allow you to adjust the water level manually.
After washing, wool should be gently reshaped to maintain its fit. Dry flat.
