VANILLA SWEATER V-NECK KNITTING PATTERN
Knitting pattern Vanilla sweater v-neck. One of our favorite patterns, Vanilla sweater, now also with a V-neck. Vanilla V-neck is knitted from the top down. You start by casting on stitches at the neck and knit back and forth while increasing on each side, to get a nice fit over the shoulders. When the back piece is finished, knit the front pieces by knitting up stitches from the back piece. The front and back pieces are knitted together after the sleeve opening is finished. The sleeves are knitted from the top down, you knit up stitches in the sleeve opening on the body. The sweater has a slightly loose fit.
FIT
The sweater should be wide, about + 20-30 cm range of motion. This means that you choose a size that is 20-30 cm more than what you measure across the chest (or the widest point of the upper body). Feel free to measure the width of a sweater you already have and like the fit. For example, if your chest is 94 cm around, both size S (range of motion of 24 cm) and M will fit fine (range of motion of 30 cm). The model pictured is with a chest width of 92 cm in size M. Note – correct measurements require that the knitting tension is observed.
Adjustments: If you want a narrower fit, you can go down one needle size, but follow the length measurements of a larger size. If you find the upper width is too wide in the smallest sizes, you can go down one needle size when knitting (6 mm or 6,5 mm needles).
